Chapter 1: The Assassin Damian Arrives
"My name is Damian, and I'm an assassin. My talent is [Absolute Execution]. As long as I perform an assassination openly and without deception, it will result in a guaranteed one-hit kill."
Under the vast and endless sky, a young man, as strikingly handsome as the reader might imagine, stood calmly with a dagger raised. His gaze was fixed on his target.
"My introduction is over. Are you ready?"
"I'm about to kill you."
"Mehh~~~"
The creature before him was a small demon lamb. Apart from its four curved horns, it looked no different from an ordinary sheep. The lamb glanced at Damian lazily before lowering its head to continue grazing.
Damian stared at the demon lamb, slowly taking a step forward.
One step...Two steps...Three steps!
He extended his dagger and lightly tapped the demon lamb's side.
[-180 HP]
The grazing demon lamb collapsed instantly.

"So… my talent is really this broken?" Damian muttered, his face a mix of astonishment and amusement as he stared at the notification.
...
A hundred years ago, a higher-dimensional game called Divine Genesis descended upon Earth. Once humans reached the age of eighteen, they could voluntarily enter the game.
Unlike ordinary games, Divine Genesis offered a fully immersive sensory experience. Everything within the game felt as real as the physical world, and some abilities could even be used in reality.
This game shattered the foundations of Earth's society, leading to the establishment of the [Divine Hall], an organization formed by several top-tier powerhouses, which worked alongside regional alliances to maintain order on Earth.
Damian was an ordinary young man from the Solaris Alliance who had just turned eighteen. Upon gaining access to the game, he eagerly jumped in and chose the profession he'd dreamed of for years—assassin.
...
To understand his choice, one must first know the job system of Divine Genesis.
In the game, players could select a starting class and draw a random talent unique to their chosen role.
The five initial classes were Assassin, Warrior, Priest, Mage, and Archer. Each had different attributes and playstyles. The Assassin class, for example, specialized in stealth and ambushes, embodying the phrase: "Silent as a shadow, deadly as the night."
For Damian, the appeal of assassins was undeniable. Compared to the raw, head-on combat style of warriors, he much preferred lurking in the shadows and striking when least expected.
But alas, fate played a cruel joke. After choosing the Assassin class, his randomly assigned talent completely contradicted the essence of the role.
...
Talents in Divine Genesis were permanent and unchangeable, drawn automatically upon selecting a class. They were categorized into seven tiers: D, C, B, A, S, SS, and the mythical SSS.
SSS-level talents were exceedingly rare. Across the past century and a player base of nearly 20 billion, fewer than a hundred individuals had ever obtained such a talent.
Damian, through sheer luck, became one of those rare individuals.
His talent, as he explained earlier, was called [Absolute Execution]. If he assassinated someone openly, the target would be guaranteed to die instantly, their health forcibly reduced to zero. However…
"I'm a damn assassin! What part of this screams 'stealth'?"
Damian let out a long sigh of frustration and opened his character panel.
[Character Name: Damian][Level: 1 (5/100)][Class: Assassin][Talent: Absolute Execution (SSS-level): Perform an assassination openly to guarantee 100% instant kill (HP reduced to zero). Only effective against hostile targets.]
[Attributes:]
Health: 200
Mana: 80
Physical Attack: 120
Magic Attack: 0
Physical Defense: 45
Magic Defense: 45
[Skills: 1/4][Skill 1: Stealth (Lv1): Observe a target while remaining hidden. During stealth, negate 5 points of the target's physical defense and increase your own attack by 5 points per minute. Effect applies to the first strike after stealth.]
[Equipment: 1/3][Weapon: Dagger (Common): A sharp starter weapon with no additional effects.]
Each starter class came with one initial skill. For assassins, it was [Stealth].
With his current stats, Damian calculated that if he fought an enemy with identical attributes, nine minutes of stealth would allow him to ignore all their physical defense and deal 165 damage in one strike. Combined with a decent offensive talent, even a mid-tier B or C-level talent would let him one-shot his opponent.
This was the power of assassins in the early game—a dominant force.
But for Damian, possessing an SSS-level talent that required him to be "open and direct," [Stealth] was essentially useless.
"One demands me to be bold, the other requires me to stay hidden. How am I supposed to play like this?"
...
The demon lamb's bleating snapped him back to reality.
Looking at another lamb trotting toward him with innocent eyes, Damian sighed. Step by step, he approached.
"Hello, my name is Damian..."
[Congratulations! You have defeated the ferocious Demon Lamb (Lv1). Experience +5. No special drops this time.][Congratulations! You have defeated the ferocious Demon Lamb (Lv1). Experience +5. Item drop: Demon Horn.][Congratulations! You have defeated the ferocious Demon Lamb (Lv1). Experience +5…][Congratulations! You have leveled up to Lv2!]
"Finally!" Damian exclaimed, watching as the demon lamb disintegrated into particles of light.
He reopened his panel to see the updated stats:
[Character Name: Damian][Level: 2 (0/150)][Class: Assassin][Talent: Absolute Execution (SSS-level)]
[Attributes:]
Health: 220
Mana: 85
Physical Attack: 130
Magic Attack: 0
Physical Defense: 50
Magic Defense: 50
Leveling up granted all-around attribute increases. For an assassin, the most critical stat was Physical Attack. However, Damian couldn't help but realize that, for him, this stat was practically meaningless.
"Let's check the loot instead."
After defeating 20 demon lambs, he'd triggered three special drops. As the weakest monsters in the starting area, their loot was limited to one item: [Demon Horn].
Though useless for direct equipping, Demon Horns were valuable crafting materials frequently purchased by players. Each one sold for 200 credits.
"Made 600 credits on my first day in the game. Not bad. That's enough for now," Damian muttered, scratching his head as he prepared to log out.
The moment his consciousness returned to reality, an excited scream pierced his ears.
"Damian! Someone just drew an SSS-level talent!"
