Chapter 93 - Private couple’s bed theater
Tang Yuan took a moment to react. “Who? Dong Ling?”
Jiang Zi hummed in confirmation, her dark eyes staring at Tang Yuan intently, her mood clearly sour. “And you still wanted to meet him.”
“Oh, come on, I swear I’m innocent, Your Honor!” Tang Yuan looked utterly baffled, scratching her neck. “How did you even come to the conclusion that he likes me? I’ve known him for twenty years, and I’ve never seen any signs of that.”
“You just don’t get it.” The gaze of a love rival—it only took one look to recognize it. That guy was definetly suspicious.
Tang Yuan gave up resisting and explained, “Alright, fine, I don’t get it. But he’s such a flirt, I wouldn’t be into him anyway. Besides, I’m already dating my girlfriend, like, full-on serious wlw.”
Jiang Zi pinched her cheek. “I know, baby only likes me. But I’m worried he might cling to you.”
With her face being pinched, Tang Yuan mumbled through squished lips, “He wouldn’t dare.”
Jiang Zi pried Tang Yuan’s mischievous hands off her. “I’ll bring you with me tomorrow. It’s business anyway.”
At that, Jiang Zi’s eyes lit up, and the corners of her lips curled back up. “Okay.”
Big jealousy, but easy to appease.
Jiang Zi just couldn’t forget the last time—when Tang Yuan had gone out to eat with Dong Ling. She hadn’t joined her for dinner that night and just left on her own. Jiang Zi had ended up secretly following her in the background.
But this time, she wouldn’t have to sit alone in some unnoticed corner outside the glass window, silently watching. This time, she could sit at the table.
…
On the fourth floor, there was a stone-grill barbecue restaurant—one of those trendy spots with great online reviews. Everything from the restaurant’s aesthetic to its service and food was impeccable. Even with the slightly high price tag, people were still willing to come.
Luckily, no reservations were needed, and when they arrived, there were still open tables.
The moment they walked in, the server’s smile visibly widened upon seeing them—clearly recognizing them. But her professional composure kept her from squealing in excitement.
Her voice was a little shaky as she spoke. “H-hello! Will it just be the two of you?”
Tang Yuan nodded. “Yes.”
“This way, please. We have a quieter spot inside.”
As the server led them in, people at other tables visibly turned their heads, whispering among themselves. They were obviously recognized.
Fortunately, there were no overly enthusiastic fans. Some discreetly pulled out their phones to snap photos and videos, but no one actually approached them. Their assigned table was in a secluded spot, hidden from view.
Overhead hung heart-shaped pendant lights, and the table had a cute panda plush sitting on it. Everything was spotless and tidy.
The server handled the grilling.
After two glasses of the restaurant’s signature rose-pear wine—a fruit wine with a low alcohol content—Tang Yuan gave a simple review. “Tastes great.”
Jiang Zi chimed in, “Let’s buy some for the home bar.”
Right on cue, a discreetly attentive server spoke up from the side. “Our boss has decided to waive your bill for today.”
“That generous?” Tang Yuan raised an eyebrow. “Even the drinks?”
The server nodded enthusiastically, like a pecking chick. “Yes, yes! The drinks too!”
Tang Yuan and Jiang Zi visiting was a big enough deal to bring in plenty of customers. Even if they weren’t actively promoting the place, the people outside would spread the word online. The exposure would be the same either way.
A free meal was a small token of appreciation. No matter how much they took, it wouldn’t be an issue—considering how much money businesses poured into official endorsements.
Tang Yuan and Jiang Zi were no strangers to the entertainment circle. They understood the game. Exchanging a glance, both of them accepted the favor without hesitation.
Tang Yuan turned to the server. “Five bottles of wine, please. Someone will come pick them up. Thanks.”
After eating their fill, Tang Yuan and Jiang Zi left the restaurant.
And within that single hour of dining, their CP supertopic on Weibo had exploded.
【They’re really there! Ahhh, I’m so jealous of everyone at that restaurant!】
【Sister Jiang hasn’t streamed in three days. Is she planning to go live today or not?】
【OP, stop just filming! Go tell her to stream!】
【No Jiang Tang content for days… I’m barely alive. Life is so bitter!】
【Why wasn’t I there? If I were, I’d be crouched under their table, no hesitation.】
Lost in their own little world, the two of them didn’t spare a single thought for their fans, who were practically starving for content.
Composed and unbothered, Tang Yuan dragged Jiang Zi into the elevator, heading up to the fifteenth-floor movie theater.
There was still half an hour before the movie started. Plenty of time.
Tang Yuan retrieved two tickets from the machine and handed one to Jiang Zi, her expression smug. “I got us a special ticket package. It comes with fruit and snacks—perfect for cutting through all that barbecue grease.”
Jiang Zi gave it a glance and nodded, completely serious. “Not just that. It also comes with a bed.”
Tang Yuan’s grin froze. “What?”
She looked down and studied the ticket package details carefully. Oh. She’d booked a private couple’s bed theater.
Tang Yuan scrambled for an explanation. “It’s for watching movies properly! Lying down is just more comfortable.”
“Right, and you just happened to pick the private couple’s bed theater for that.”
Tang Yuan double-checked. The words “private” were written in an artsy font—just like the logo. Big, yet completely unnoticeable. She could die peacefully now.
Especially under Jiang Zi’s teasing gaze. Tang Yuan made one last, desperate struggle. “That’s not what I meant.”
“I just saw that it was more expensive than the others. You know, I just instinctively thought that the pricier it is, the better the experience…”
Great. Now even jumping into the Yellow River wouldn’t wash this off— the more she try to explain, the guiltier she sound.
Tang Yuan shut her mouth.
“I know,” Jiang Zi replied smoothly, eyes brimming with amusement. “I love this date. Dear, you plan things so well.”
The barbecue spot had been her idea, and it had turned out great. The movie theater, too—she could already tell it would be a good experience.
A 2,000 yuan movie package. The moment their tickets were scanned, an attendant immediately stepped forward to guide them.
Once inside, Tang Yuan finally understood what private meant.
There were only six beds in the entire theater, two per row, with a two-meter-wide aisle in between. Each bed had a square table, three drawers, and a round, unopened glass dome on top.
“This dome has a unique design, It provides strong soundproofing, and once closed, no one outside can see in. It also has a convex lens effect for a more immersive viewing experience.”
The attendant gave them a quick tutorial on using the dome. Another staff member delivered the snack platter from their package and set it on their table. Before leaving, she added, “The restroom is to the left when you exit. You can stay overnight. If you need anything, just press the call button by your bed.”
For the wealthy who enjoyed certain experiences, 2,000 yuan was a steal. So all six beds were occupied.
The theater lights dimmed, leaving only the glow from the screen. No one could see each other.
Tang Yuan climbed onto the bed and declared with a straight face, “We’ll watch the movie and leave. No need for the glass dome.”
The theater was so quiet that the couple next to them overheard. The girl sounded surprised. “Sis, did you book the wrong package?”
Before Tang Yuan could answer, Jiang Zi beat her to it. “No, we’re a couple.”
Then, she calmly shut the glass dome.
