Chapter 78 - The Slum Boy’s Desperate Counterattack (23)
In Tru’s eyes, there was no way such a frail medical worker could block his claw!
He would be torn to pieces and pay the price for his uselessness. His wife and children were now under his control, so it was better to kill the wrong person than to let one slip away.
Weakness was the original sin!
Si Yisi merely shook his head slightly. The lower half of his face was covered by a white mask, leaving only a pair of eyes gleaming with cold light, as transparent as glass.
There was no panic or fear. In that instant, Tru sensed something subtly wrong in Si Yisi’s gaze. But it was too late to stop; the arrow had already been released from the bow.
Si Yisi gently extended a hand, skillfully gripping the insect shell that had surfaced on Tru’s skin. With just one hand, as firm as an iron clamp, he rendered Tru’s attack completely ineffective!
The medical laboratory where Si Yisi and the others were located was well-hidden, with only a single cold beam of light illuminating the room. The pale white light cast onto Si Yisi’s face, making the atmosphere even more chilling.
The light made Si Yisi’s face appear pale and lifeless, while Tru involuntarily shuddered.
He recognized who Si Yisi was! He wasn’t the medical worker Tru had coerced into coming here… That medical worker had been swapped out!
As that thought surfaced in Tru’s mind, he instinctively began to doubt certain things.
Had I really extracted that slave’s human genes?
What about Si’an… When had he caught up? Had my secret arrangements been discovered?!
These hidden concerns momentarily filled Tru with a vague sense of unease, but in the next instant, that feeling vanished completely, replaced by an absolute killing intent!
Being captured once had not made Tru reconsider his approach. He merely believed that Si Yisi had relied on nothing more than luck and talent. The only reason he hadn’t taken care of him yet was sheer misfortune.
With that realization, Tru made a last-ditch effort! His insect eyes narrowed slightly, glowing with an exceptionally dangerous light, like a venomous snake ready to strike at any moment.
Anyone who assumed he was just a lowly, worthless Zerg would pay dearly. But Si Yisi had remained completely rational from start to finish. He knew how to analyze and push Si’an’s body to its fullest potential, amplifying every advantage to the extreme. He never did anything without certainty!
Use the mecha possessed by Ah Tu?
No.
Si Yisi immediately dismissed the idea in his mind. Instead, he tore off the obstructive mask, shed the overly long white coat, and took the initiative to launch an attack!
Zergs had exceptional physical strength; ordinary humans using mechas might not even match the hardness of their bodies. But as living beings, they were bound to have fatal weaknesses.
Zergs covered their bodies with thick exoskeletons, effectively shielding some of their vital spots.
Tru, however, was different. Although his behavior was becoming more insect-like, his body remained only half-human, half-insect! The junctions between his human limbs and his exoskeleton; those, without a doubt, were Tru’s weak points!
Si Yisi had been training Si’an’s body because, in the end, mechas were external tools; one couldn’t rely on them forever.
From his sleeve, Si Yisi slid out a small dagger with a ruby embedded in its hilt.
The moment the gemstone flashed with brilliant light, Si Yisi’s blade effortlessly aimed for Tru’s weak point!
The ruby’s glow was like a ticking time bomb. When it reflected off Tru’s body, it seemed to foreshadow his inevitable defeat!
Tru blocked the strike, but it was far from easy.
The moment his insect claw met the blade, he realized he was struggling. He felt as if his body had been punctured with countless tiny holes, through which his mental energy was rapidly leaking!
“W-What?!” Tru’s expression froze, finally realizing something was wrong with his body.
At that moment, Si Yisi actively lifted the mental suggestion he had cast upon Tru; allowing him to clearly see the numerous wounds on his own body, each one oozing fresh blood!
“Hiss…” Tru sucked in a sharp breath from the pain, already thinking of retreat. He had no idea what Si Yisi had done!
He had thought he extracted the genes of that young slave, but in reality, he had nearly drained himself dry!
Damn it! And yet, he couldn’t stop the growing urge to flee…
Feigning full resistance against Si Yisi’s ruby dagger, Tru was actually discreetly shifting his stance to unload force.
He wasn’t foolish enough to believe he could fight Si Yisi in his injured state.
***
Tru was like a slippery eel; sometimes unable to let go of power and status, yet at other times, like now, perfectly willing to drop everything and run!
At the core of it all, there was one reason; Fear of death!
No matter how arrogant he pretended to be, he could never escape the curse of fearing for his life.
Tru had just taken a few quick steps backward, away from Si Yisi, and it seemed like there was hope for escape…
But then, Si Yisi moved his other hand!
In that hand appeared an identical twin ruby dagger, and now he was attacking with both hands!
Si Yisi’s attacks weren’t flashy at all. Contrary to his cold and silent appearance, each strike was swift and precise, aiming directly at Tru’s vital points.
Tru was thoroughly tormented. In no time, his body, already riddled with unhealed bloody holes, gained several more fresh wounds.
At this moment, Tru had become nothing more than a target, serving as a whetstone for Si Yisi to sharpen Si’an’s skills!
“I’ll fight you to the end!” Tru shouted, glaring fiercely at Si Yisi.
He didn’t dodge or evade, allowing Si Yisi’s strike to pierce his abdomen, a trail of blood beads spilling forth.
But in reality? Tru knew he wouldn’t die from this. It was just painful and hard to endure. Better a short pain than a long one; he might as well take advantage of this chance when Si Yisi might underestimate him to make a break for it!
Normally, when faced with someone so reckless, one might instinctively hesitate or become overconfident, thinking victory was assured.
Was Si Yisi a normal person?
He was a system! From the beginning, Tru had targeted the wrong person!
Si Yisi’s hand didn’t tremble at all. He had already anticipated Tru’s plan, blocking every possible escape route, cutting off Tru’s retreat entirely!
He didn’t want to continue fighting with Tru. Training with this spoiled prince for a while was enough.
Any more, and it would just become tedious.
Tru’s level was too low. In the end, he was just an arrogant fool. Compared to Alina, whom Si Yisi had fought before, it was like comparing heaven and earth.
“Ha!” Tru panicked and fiercely kicked at Si Yisi’s thigh. With his strength, if the kick landed, that leg would surely be crippled.
Tru was that sinister. He knew his chances of escaping were slim; if Si Yisi could infiltrate unnoticed, it meant his private soldiers had likely betrayed him!
Tru’s only advantage had been neutralized. This desperate move was purely to drag Si Yisi down with him before “dying”!
This damned guy loved mechas, didn’t he? Even though in this interstellar age there was limb repair technology, such repairs always left some lingering aftereffects.
If Si’an’s leg got injured, he’d no longer be able to pilot mechas that required high precision. Tru wanted to crush Si’an’s dreams at the final moment!
But Si Yisi had anticipated Tru’s desperate gambit. Suddenly, a small robot appeared at his leg…
It was Ah Tu! Clumsily, Ah Tu opened his arms and hugged Tru’s incoming leg tightly!
Ah Tu was unharmed, but Tru lost his balance. Taking advantage of this perfect opportunity, Si Yisi grabbed Tru’s hair, and in close contact, poured a torrent of data flow; his mental energy, directly into Tru’s brain!
