Chapter 75 - The Slum Boy’s Desperate Counterattack (20)
Si Yisi silently observed everything, appearing like a complete bystander. Yet, within the shell of Si’an’s body, an uncontrollable emotion was boiling over. That emotion—was both satisfaction and relief.
Alina and Tru’s argument was like two dogs biting each other, both sides tearing each other apart. However, compared to Alina, a noble of the Zerg who could still mock Tru without a hint of distress despite being in a dire situation, Tru truly looked nothing like a prince.
Even if his bloodline was indeed noble, at his core, he was no different from a commoner from the streets.
An absolute disgrace.
“What did you say?!” Tru shifted his body and grabbed Alina’s wrist with a vicious tug.
In his insect eyes, panic and fear quietly brewed. At that moment, he suddenly slammed his body against Alina, shoving her aside with all his strength. As she burst into wild laughter, he staggered back a step!
His murky golden insect eyes burned with a desperate determination as he shouted, “Do you think I’ll believe your bullshit?! Some ridiculous Convergence Serum—if such a thing truly existed, then you Zerg wouldn’t have been repeatedly defeated by that old bastard Clint! And my so-called B-rank mental power—that was your doing, wasn’t it?!”
“You claim it’s irreversible? Ha! And you… a filthy commoner from the slums—what right do you have to possess such a gifted talent? You must have colluded with the Zerg, maybe even conspired in the murder of several Anderson Academy students!”
“When I get out of here, I’ll file a lawsuit in court to bring you to justice as a shameful spy who collaborated with the Zerg! The military tribunal will judge your crimes!”
This was an attempt to distort the truth; to push all the blame onto Si Yisi!
Tru, fearless and arrogant, looked down on everyone with his nose in the air. Si Yisi watched as he crushed another button in his hand. A pale fluorescence spread from Tru’s body, connecting to a distant location!
This was the source of his confidence! He had his own privately trained army!
Once the signal was sent, his soldiers would rush over without hesitation!
Tru grinned maliciously.
“…Just wait. You’ll all die with no place to be buried. Do you think the nobles will believe I’m the culprit, or that YOU are?”
“Everything will be erased; there will be no proof left!”
“No! I have evidence!” A voice suddenly rang out from outside.
***
Huo Jinren shouted loudly, locking eyes with Si Yisi and receiving his silent affirmation.
“I have been constantly bullied by you so-called high-born nobles… So from the very beginning, I planted surveillance devices on all of you!”
A flash of fire flickered in Huo Jinren’s eyes as he reached toward Tru’s chest without hesitation. To everyone’s shock, he peeled away a piece of synthetic skin from Tru’s body—so realistic that it could have passed for real flesh!
Tru’s arrogance instantly crumbled. He stared at Huo Jinren in utter disbelief; When?! When did this thing get placed on me?! How could this piece of trash have planted something on me without me even noticing?!
Tru’s face turned from pale to purple. His fingers twitched…
If Huo Jinren had managed to place this thing directly over my heart, then wouldn’t it have been just as easy for him to kill me at any time?!
Huo Jinren gently rubbed the synthetic skin between his fingers, his expression finally resembling that of a predator.
“This is also a liquid bomb… If I want to, you’ll all turn into fireworks in the blink of an eye! Ha, I originally planned to use this on you nobles, but I haven’t had much opportunity for it until now!”
At this moment, the look in Huo Jinren’s eyes was sharp; so intense that it made people instinctively ignore his ordinary appearance and focus solely on his gaze! He was completely serious.
If these noble-born students dared to act recklessly again, he wouldn’t hesitate to make his move!
No one could predict the terrifying consequences when someone who had endured humiliation for so long finally exploded!
Huo Jinren reached out and pressed a switch on the piece of synthetic skin.
A projected image immediately unfolded before Si Yisi and the others!
“Plant these black stones in different locations.” Tru’s voice was crystal clear in the recording.
Even his breathing and the sound of his heartbeat had been captured!
“Thump, thump-thump.”
The accelerated heartbeat revealed Tru’s excitement; Extreme excitement!
“The Zerg larvae need food after they hatch… Fresh food!” The lower half of Tru’s face appeared in the projection.
Si Yisi and the others could see the sinister and exhilarated smile on his face!
“Come on… Place the black stones and add fuel to the Zergs’ awakening! Kill—!”
What followed was a scene of utter devastation. The ruins lay in shambles as one juvenile Zergs after another swarmed the noble students, attacking them relentlessly. In the recording, those noble-born students never expected such a turn of events. They were quickly overwhelmed by the sea of Zergs!
A single juvenile Zerg had only a small appetite and tiny, sharp teeth. But when an entire swarm pounced, their countless razor-like fangs tore into the noble students’ bodies. The innocent students reached out their arms for help, but they were completely engulfed by the Zergs!
Their limbs, and even their heads, were gnawed into grotesque, bloody holes. The horrifying sound of chewing seemed to echo right beside their ears!
Yet, in the corner of the image, Tru’s face could be seen twisted into a cold smile. From beginning to end, he had been laughing joyfully, as if he were reveling in this blood-soaked feast alongside the Zergs!
To deliberately orchestrate the slaughter of his own kind; no, to enjoy it, Tru’s madness was beyond words!
He was utterly deserving of death!
“Hahahaha!” Alina burst into laughter, her expression cold and full of contempt, as if she were looking at a piece of absolute trash!
“You truly are fit to be the lowest form of Zerg. I was right about you all along! You claim that your B-rank mental power is our doing?”
“The reason you only have B-rank mental power… is because most of it has been drained to sustain the Convergence Serum’s assimilation of you! At this point, you’re beyond saving. The serum has already seeped into your very bones! It will slowly drain every last drop of your mental power, forcing you to regress step by step until you become a pathetic, lowly Zerg with no hope of ever advancing!”
Alina’s words instantly shattered Tru’s act of bravado!
The moment he realized she wasn’t lying; his arrogance began to crack! She means… The reason I only had B-rank mental power was because of the Convergence Serum?!
And why had the serum taken effect? Because of the dark, filthy desires that had festered within Tru himself!
“Impossible!!” Tru’s face twisted in fury, but before he could react, Huo Jinren punched him square in the face!
Instinctively, he tried to counterattack with his mental power; only to feel an overwhelming sense of weakness the moment he attempted to use it!
She’s telling the truth! No… No, it has to be a lie! It has to be a lie! There’s no way!
Tru’s face contorted even further. His gaze turned cold as he scanned the people and Zerg before him, feeling that everything he saw was an absurd joke!
Do they really think they could deceive me with such nonsense?! I’m the Third Prince of the Empire, the heir with the greatest chance of inheriting the throne!
One day, I’ll stand at the very pinnacle of power! So… Everything they said had to be lies. Every last word!
Self-deception.
Si Yisi saw through Tru’s state of mind with a single glance.
But could he really keep deceiving himself for long?
“Ha—!”
Alina let out a cold chuckle, her gaze brimming with malice toward Tru. Even though she had fallen into the hands of this twisted human, the thought of the Empire’s Third Prince being transformed into the lowest of the low among the Zerg; It made her want to laugh.
***
Just then, a battered spaceship descended from the sky and landed near Si Yisi and the others.
A soldier stepped out.
“We’re here under military orders to rescue the students of Anderson Military Academy.”
As soon as he finished delivering this official statement, he lifted his gaze; only to meet the massive eyes of two bound Zerg staring directly at him!
The soldier flinched, his expression wavering as he hesitantly looked at Alina and Tru, both restrained.
“Is this… your doing?!”
“Yes!” Huo Jinren answered firmly and without hesitation!
“Please board the ship for a full debriefing—” The soldier’s eyes twitched as he carefully examined the captured Zerg.
Wait!
Doesn’t that Zerg bear an uncanny resemblance to the most important rescue target—His Highness, Tru, the Third Prince of the Kaz Empire?!
Si Yisi nodded at the soldier. “Yes, a detailed explanation is necessary—”
With one hand, he lifted Alina; with the other, he grabbed Tru, dragging them both along like sacks of grain. His movements were crude and unceremonious, leaving behind a trail of fresh blood in their wake.
***
Once again, the desolate planet erupted into a full-blown Zerg crisis! This incident sent waves of panic through the Kaz Empire, indirectly affecting the Shuling Kingdom as well.
What kind of existence were the Zerg? Bloodthirsty by nature, they relentlessly seized territory, devoured every interstellar human they encountered, and regarded them as nothing more than a sumptuous feast!
How could anyone not be terrified?
But soon, an even more shocking revelation plunged both the Kaz Empire and the Shuling Kingdom into a deeper, far more horrifying nightmare…
Tru, the Third Prince of the Kaz Empire… had turned into a Zerg!
Worse still, several students from Anderson Military Academy filed an appeal with the court, accusing Tru of deliberately luring his noble-born classmates to their deaths; all for one reason. To bring about the revival of the Zerg!
Si Yisi handed both Tru and Alina over to the court without hesitation. He knew full well that the Kaz Empire would do everything in its power to protect this so-called pure-blooded prince.
More than that, he was keenly aware that Tru had left himself a backup plan. He could escape from prison with ease. But if he didn’t escape, how could he experience the deepest depths of despair?
Si Yisi felt like a cat toying with a trapped mouse, waiting with amusement for the inevitable collapse of Tru.
Such an exhilarating thought.
