Chapter 130: Returning To The Inn
"…" After that discussion, the room fell silent. It was still awkward for Steph to continue her explanation because of Albert's lack of knowledge.
She paused for a moment and waited until the peace was restored.
After Albert and Bepe stopped talking for a few seconds, she finally continued, "I would like to inform Sir Albert that I'll be the messenger connecting you to Her Majesty. Your power is too unique for us, so we need to take care of this more seriously.
"Also, since Sir Albert just arrived in this city, I believe you have a mountain of tasks that you need to do. If you need anything, please inform me. I'll do my best to help you."
"Thank you." Albert nodded and asked, "I believe that you know about my business, right?"
"Yes."
"The terms will be similar. I'll be bringing a hundred potions every month."
"Understood. Is there anything else you'd like to add?"
"When do we get the mansion?"
"We'll clean it up for you, so the day after tomorrow. The mansion is fully furnished, so you can stay there immediately."
"I see. I need to do some renovations as well." Albert looked down with his chin resting on his palm. "It's gonna take around two weeks, I guess."
"Do you need my help with the renovation?"
"No, it's fine. The mansion alone is enough for the reward. There's no reason for me to continue straining your wallet." Albert waved his hand, treating it as not a big deal.
"The mansion is basically free, so there's no need for you to worry about it."
"No, no… You're not understanding."
"Ah." Those words immediately struck her brain, making her realize his real intention for rejecting her help. "I apologize."
It was clear that Albert had a big secret inside that mansion, so he must not want to have anyone getting information from it.
Even though they could inquire about some information from the workers, there was no telling what was happening inside.
"Although your reputation has been cleared by Her Majesty, I need to ask this one question. I hope that you're not doing something that will put us into trouble, right?" She squinted her eyes.
It would be bad if Albert actually mutilated people inside the mansion and did human trafficking other than in the slave market. So, she just hoped that the situation was under control.
"Nope. I believe you've heard some kind of news from Xander Town, no?"
"Yes." She ultimately accepted his words before asking, "Do you need anything else?"
"No. That's all." Albert shook his head, ending their conversation. Then, he rose from his seat, ready to leave. "I'm looking forward to our cooperation."
"Yes, Sir." Steph nodded and led him to the door. She even personally saw him off until his group couldn't be seen anymore.
The receptionist came to her with a curious face, asking, "Manager, who are they? Seeing that you personally received them with just a simple message, they should be someone important, right? Should we take some note about this?"
"Sorry, but I can't explain their identities. Just know that if they come here again, lead them to my office." Steph shook her head in disappointment.
"Are they that important?"
"It's Her Majesty's direct order."
"…" The receptionist fell silent when Lilith was brought into the conversation. She ultimately nodded her head, understanding the severity of this matter. "I'll inform the receptionist from other shifts too."
"Yeah. Please do that." She turned around and walked back to her room with a troubled face. Albert's appearance meant that she was going to be busier, so it would be hard for her to get any free time. After all, she had read the report of how Erica followed them adventuring most of the time. "I hope that I don't get in too much trouble."
She entered her room with a sigh.
…
Meanwhile, Albert and the others were returning to the inn.
On the way, Bepe asked, "Do you need anything for the mansion, Master?"
"Just call some construction workers and painters. You're going to be in charge of them. As for the blueprint… I'll give it to you later and the workers should know something about it. I want you to supervise the entire project. Can you do that?"
"Absolutely. I won't disappoint you, Master."
"That's good." Albert paused for a moment and realized he had never actually learned anything about this world. It was true that he had listened to some information from Yale, but he never learned the fundamentals.
He never even asked himself about the power level of this world because he was too reliant on the level system.
"By the way, who's the strongest person in this kingdom?"
"That would be Her Majesty Lilith. She has been showing the fastest progress among other Succubus Queens in history. Many people believe that in the future, her strength could defeat all other kings… Though it was due to her charm.
"However, she herself was an adept 8-Star Magician. It was said that she would reach 9-Star Magician soon."
"How about Raisa?"
"She's a powerful warrior, equal to an 8-Star Magician. If her charm is slightly higher, she would be the strongest person in the kingdom right now."
"I see." Albert thought for a moment before looking at Shella. "What was your level when you were alive?"
"Equal to 5-Star Magician. My job was an Alchemist, so fighting wasn't really my forte."
"Mhm." Albert contemplated for a moment. Currently, his strength is somewhere between 4-Star to 5-Star. 'It seems that level 150 to level 300 or something are for Tier 5 to Tier 8 Magicians, whereas Tier 9 Magician starts from around level 330 or something.
'The gap is not that wide, but considering it'll be harder to level up in the future, I guess I can understand this kind of gap. I just need to make sure that my Bonk Bites are unlimited in order to raise my skill.'
"Shella, do you know some basic information about the kingdom or the world?"
"I'm afraid not. It's already vague in my mind."
"I'm going to ask Jessie or Irena then. I'm going to wait for Yale to come back before going for a mission.." Albert had decided his future course.
