NPC into Player: Let's Wreck This Game

Chapter 286: It Wasn't The Mayor!

"That's good as a start," he didn't hesitate to touch it over his body and the next moment a wool black coat appeared next covering his suit and adding a fine touch of elegance to his outfit.

"At least she has a nice taste," he muttered before returning to the most important task.

How could he steal something he didn't know where it was hidden?

"So all I have to do is to touch any spot here and I'll receive a registry of its history of transportation," he muttered to himself while starting to touch one spot as a test.

In ten seconds nothing appeared there and then he selected another hall, and then a corridor, then he started checking all the rooms and corridors inside this mansion without gaining any useful info except for some random and useless things related to today's event and an auction one week ago.

"System alert: this place has witnessed a precious item transportation one week ago. It moved from this hall to that hall. The place of start is marked in green and the end is marked in gold. Player can check it as he likes now for the next ten minutes."

"System alert: this place has witnessed a precious item transportation four hours ago. It moved from this hall to that hall. The place of start is marked in green and the end is marked in gold. Player can check it as he likes now for the next ten minutes."

"It's all… useless!" he couldn't help but sigh before more people started to come and the seats around began to be full.

"I have to think like him… what would you do if you were him?" he started to ask himself this question while glancing over the building and then moved his gaze to a certain spot.

It was a small barn building next to the big palace. It looked old and tattered from the outside as he could recall from his morning scout. "Let's see this place then," despite there being another fancy building much bigger than this barn next to the palace, he didn't select it first.

The moment he magnified that building and started to see it in three dimensional view, his eyes widened out of surprise. "I got you…" he found many guards stationed inside that building with at least one hundred were there at the moment.

And just below the ground he saw a tunnel that ended up in a wide room that was located five stories below the ground.

And the more suspicious thing was the presence of a tunnel that connected this room with another lying under the other building he didn't scout yet.

"So this is the place of the first vault," he muttered before moving to the second building and there he found an equal number of guards and a similar tunnel that ended up with a room.

"Yet I need to be sure," he didn't jump to any conclusion as there was still a barrack for the guards to sleep in and some small buildings used as a rest place for them as well.

After ten minutes of deep search he found that there was nowhere else to have his item but the two he recently discovered.

"Moment of truth," he held his breath while clicking over the room under the barn.

"System alert: this place has witnessed a precious item transportation four hours ago. It moved from this room to that room. The place of start is marked in green and the end is marked in gold. Player can check it as he likes now for the next ten minutes."

"Bingo… got you!" he couldn't help but sneer while watching one room marked in green and the other in golden color. They were the two rooms he just suspected and now he had to put a plan to steal the item.

"They aren't connected with here," he couldn't help but sigh, "so it's all out war then."

He knew it was a hard challenge but he would be up to it. in fact he didn't prefer for things to escalate to such heights, but he had to be well prepared.

'I've found the vault,' he sent to Sharel, 'but it's not in the palace, it's somewhere else.'

'Away from the mansion?' Sharel was surprised to hear that.

'It's inside the mansion lands, but not directly connected to this building I'm in now.'

'Oh… that complicates things then,' she sent, 'and I assume there are a lot of guards there, right?'

'There are one hundred at least directly protecting the vault entrance,' he sent, 'and it's situated deep underground. Any ideas?'

'Well… let me return to my boss and tell you her thoughts.'

Bloom shrugged before returning to sit with extreme laziness over his seat. His mind was now cleared of any doubts, worries, and thoughts. Only the mission and the mission alone took over his mind at the moment.

"If it's a war then I don't mind having it," he muttered before rubbing his temples and trying to squeeze away the stress welled up there. "At least I got what I wanted and only I lack the means to truly make it mine."

Just as he was sitting there he noticed an old man leaned over the mayor and muttered some words to him. The next moment the mayor turned his gaze towards him for the first time since the evening started.

"Oh… it's not you then," Bloom's eyes shone brightly before understanding everything right away.
