Chapter 282: The Special Item... It's Gone!
"No, no, it's not that kind at all," the guard's face changed slightly as if he was agitated with anger, "it's just he is a little paranoid and keeps moving it right and left all the time. Just hours ago I helped in moving it towards its current location."
"Oh," Bloom said while thanking his luck to find this talkative guard, "it looks heavy indeed."
"Not at all, it's so light like holding a feather," the guard shook his head, "but there is always a stationed group of ten elites on guard around it all the time."
"Aha," Bloom said before adding in true regret, "I really envy your lord now. Being able to have such a rare treasure is a real blessing. I wish I could obtain one for myself."
"Hahaha, he is indeed a bastard but a lucky bastard," the guard said before adding, "and for you my esteemed lord I can tell you the name of the person you should seek to get such an item if you want… but…"
Bloom nodded and he took out two shields from his inventory, "say it and these two babies here will be yours."
The guard was distracted again by the shields in Bloom's hands and didn't even realize what he was saying just to take these two priceless gears for him.
"It's Morden, the local leader of the dark forces in this zone. You should go and say you are coming from my lord's end and he will meet you. I only know that he was the one to grant my lord such a priceless treasure."
"Thanks," Bloom let the two shields off and the guard hurriedly ran to grab them.
"Thanks a lot esteemed lord, thanks for your extreme generosity," the guard said while holding the two gears like he was holding his girl, "if you ever needed anything just look for me and I'll make sure to satisfy your needs anytime."
Bloom waved casually to him before returning to the hall again and this time his mind was heavily burdened with what he just learnt.
Yet just before he reached his seat, a system alert kicked in, startling him.
"System alert: A valuable info was revealed to the player, yet it's not verified."
"System alert: Player can now choose to go and find Morden and verify the info or continue his mission here."
"I'll continue here," Bloom wasn't even tempted by that offer, "I've already spent a lot on this mission and can't retreat now."
He sat on his seat and the next thing he did was to check his own messages. A message was there on top from Sharel and when he opened it he was surprised to see her sending him messages like any player.
'Are you a player perhaps?' He accepted the map and while opening it he sent it to her.
'Hahaha, do you think you are the only ones with the ability to send and receive messages here?' she instantly replied before sending again, 'focus on the mission in hand or else you'll fail your chance to have a date with me.'
'Didn't think you would change your mind so soon.'
'I can't resist that sexy suit you have there,' she sent before adding, 'make sure not to spoil it, I want to meet you while wearing it.'
'Don't worry, I care about it more than you think,' he smiled before glancing at the map he got in hand. There he found a detailed drawing of the mansion and when he just tried to magnify it, a system alert came.
"System alert: Player can choose to merge this map with the system, so he would get more detailed real time updates about the map."
"I agree," he didn't hesitate to do that. Previously at his mission to screw Gerard's mission he did something like that and it helped him greatly.
The next moment the map vanished and then he opened his system map and found the place he was sitting in highly detailed.
"In three dimensions as well… interesting," just as he touched the map to see a whole view of the palace, he found the ability to change his perspective and the map would be in three dimensional view.
"Hmm… so the blue dots are those neutral to me, and those black dots are… the guards perhaps?" he noticed the hall he was in being filled with blue dots while dark dots were scattered around the entire mansion.
"Where are you, my precious vault?" he kept searching until he found an underground passage heading down the ground.
"This one…" his eyes sparkled while he followed the underground tunnel until he finally found a room with a marked dot there. "It's here… but it's only one vault though," he thought to himself before checking the distance again.
"Sigh, ten levels under the ground with no other way to escape… How can someone be so suspicious and cautious? Damn!"
He didn't hurry to judge before he searched for the other one. He found another tunnel similar to the first one and there he found his second vault.
"So the two are kept underground for ten levels and with no escape route except the one I would come from… this is getting tougher," he sighed before returning to the chat with Sharel.
'Where is that item?'
'Why do you seem annoyed?'
He paused for a moment before writing to her. 'I found the vaults, heavily secured under the ground for ten levels with no way to escape but the path linking them to the surface.'
'Seems hard indeed,' she sent before adding, 'let me return to the emergency escape team and see what we can do for you then.'
'The item?'
'It's already embedded in the map, didn't you notice it?'
Bloom was speechless there for a second.
'What? What's wrong?' as he took longer than expected to write back to her she grew suspicious.
'I… just integrated the map into the system map.'
'…'
She didn't answer him for long minutes before returning to write. 'The things you'll steal… we'll have half of the entire loot.'
