I was Kicked Out of the Hunter’s Guild

Chapter 32 - There’s No Way My Daughter Has a Problem!

The process by which policies are decided and implemented in a country is rarely as clean or straightforward as one might think.

From power struggles between politicians to conflicts among those involved in executing the policies, it’s a basic fact that the behind-the-scenes process is often complicated and messy.

And, in that respect…

One person who had made active efforts in the past to pass laws related to training elite hunters—

Lee Jaemin, the incumbent Vice Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Korea—

Was now deeply troubled by the recent situation surrounding the 28th Guild.

Why on earth are things turning out like this…?

Why the hell…?

The 28th Guild was one of the most highly regarded hunter guilds in Korea.

Comprised of capable and strikingly beautiful S-class hunters, the guild had repeatedly achieved victory, amassing a series of brilliant records.

They had consistently completed missions deemed impossible, boasting overwhelming success rates with almost no damage to their allies.

Naturally, the public attributed this success to the exceptional leadership of Isena, the guild master who led the 28th Guild.

Vice Minister Lee Jaemin thought the same.

While the abilities of the adjutants and other hunters surely played a part, it was the leader—the guild master—who ultimately steered the organization.

It was common sense to regard a guild’s accomplishments as a reflection of its leader’s competence.

He believed that without question.

Above all—

The leader of the 28th Guild was none other than his own daughter.

Regarding Isena, an S-rank hunter, Vice Minister Lee Jaemin naturally believed that all of the 28th Guild’s achievements were the result of his daughter’s exceptional leadership.

For this reason, Vice Minister Lee Jaemin sought to further demonstrate the effectiveness of the elite adjutant policy—a policy he had personally advocated for and established. As his daughter wished, he decided to assign an aide from the military academy, someone named Lee Jinhyun or something.

Since his daughter, Isena, the guild master, had always described Lee Jinhyun as a useless and incompetent individual, the Vice Minister believed this decision was unquestionably the right one.

To top it off, he went out of his way to contact the person in charge and arranged for Choi Han—a newly appointed elite adjutant known for being exceptionally talented and intelligent, even among A-class hunters—to join the guild.

However…

His expectations and efforts were shattered in less than a month.

It all began with the first mission following the replacement of the adjutant.

In that mission, the 28th Guild’s stellar track record came crashing down. The outcome was a disaster—arguably the worst performance in the guild’s history.

There had been inadequate battle preparations.

The guild master’s orders were blatantly disregarded.

As a result, numerous hunters were injured.

These facts left Vice Minister Lee Jaemin utterly humiliated.

And when the media got wind of the story, the situation worsened.

The scandal forced S-class hunters, including his daughter Isena, to issue a public apology.

A guild that had once sailed smoothly under favorable winds had suddenly run aground on a hidden reef.

But the crisis within the 28th Guild didn’t end there.

After Choi Han took responsibility for the incident and left the guild, new lieutenants were assigned to the 28th Guild.

However…

None of them managed to adapt.

Each one submitted a transfer request immediately after the first month—the so-called adaptation period—had passed.

As a result, the 28th Guild had gone through a total of four lieutenants in the past four months.

“What is the problem?! The 28th Guild, led by my pretty and capable daughter! Why the hell do I have to be humiliated like this because of a few lieutenants?!”

From Vice Minister Lee Jaemin’s perspective, the situation was completely incomprehensible.

This was the 28th Guild—an elite group that had achieved only the best results under his daughter’s leadership.

If a competent adjutant were assigned to such a place, excellent results should naturally follow.

And yet, the outcomes so far had been nothing short of disappointing.

Every lieutenant assigned to the guild seemed focused only on when they could leave.

When the time came, they would come up with all sorts of excuses and abandon the 28th Guild.

Vice Minister Lee Jaemin’s frustration had reached a boiling point.

After all, the elite adjutants—individuals benefiting from the very system he had created—were proving to be nothing but disappointing.

Could it be that the so-called elites are just a bunch of incompetent fools?

No… no matter how much I think about it, that can’t be the case.

In fact, when looking at the overall numbers, the system has clearly produced good results. And yet… this keeps happening…

For a brief moment, Vice Minister Lee Jaemin considered the unthinkable.

Could there be something wrong with my daughter?

But he quickly shook his head, dismissing the thought.

Impossible.

Wasn’t his daughter a top-tier S-class hunter?

Wasn’t she the pride of his life—the one who had performed better than anyone else on the battlefield for the past four years?

The mere idea that there could be something wrong with her seemed utterly absurd.

After all, the daughter he knew always appeared perfect and adorable whenever she was in front of him.

“Yes, this must be a problem arising from a difference in skill.”

“It must be because there aren’t many lieutenants capable of keeping up with my daughter, who’s simply too talented.”

“How could a mere sparrow ever comprehend the mind of a phoenix?”

Reassured by his conclusion, Vice Minister Lee Jaemin turned his attention back to the documents on his desk.

A Daughter’s Request for a New Lieutenant

This time, the request came with a particular condition:

The new lieutenant needed to be someone who could be thoroughly tied down—someone who wouldn’t leave after just a month.

“Yeah… up until now, the 28th Guild has always been led by my daughter. Of course, ability matters, but above all, it would be best to have someone who absolutely can’t leave, so the atmosphere doesn’t get ruined again.”

From Vice Minister Lee Jaemin’s perspective, the root cause of the 28th Guild’s current difficulties lay in the disrupted atmosphere caused by the constant turnover of adjutants.

Because of this instability, Isena was under extreme stress and unable to lead the guild properly.

In other words, the Vice Minister believed that if he could simply provide a lieutenant who wouldn’t leave prematurely, the 28th Guild would naturally return to its former glory.

With that in mind, he took special care in selecting someone.

He set his sights on one of his assistants—someone who, due to personal circumstances, had no option to transfer elsewhere.

He then formally requested that this individual be assigned to the 28th Guild.

All in the hope that the guild, led by his daughter, would regain its former brilliance.

***

“Here it is. This is the current status information of the person named Lee Jinhyun that you requested.”

“Thank you… really… Thank you so much.”

Na Jiseon expressed her gratitude over and over to the person who handed her the envelope.

Although the person standing before her was someone she had paid to do this job, her gratitude at this moment was entirely sincere.

“It’s nothing. If you need help again, feel free to contact me.”

“Yes, I will. Thank you very much.”

After the employee left, Jiseon began opening the envelope in her trembling hands.

Inside was the information she had been desperately seeking—

Details about Lee Jinhyun: where he was currently located and what he was doing.

Dreamers…

A Black Hunter company?

I never thought he would find a job this quickly…

To be honest, Jiseon had assumed that Jinhyun would still be unemployed.

If he had been, it would have been much easier to persuade him to come back—just as Isena and Yujin had always suggested.

But despite that, Jiseon felt a surprising warmth just knowing where Jinhyun was.

Even if she couldn’t convince him to return—

At the very least, she could find him and apologize.

Of course, that won’t be easy.

After everything I’ve done…

But still… it’ll be okay.

Because Jinhyun oppa is kind.

If enough time has passed… maybe, just maybe…
