Ep. 1153 Lin's Evolution Part 1
Mulan says "You just need some of my blood? I'm fine with that."
Lin says "I guess I don't mind. As long as you are sure that it is safe and there is no danger to Mulan."
"Nope, no danger. At most, she will be a little weak for a few hours. Nothing serious. While I can't be sure of the exact effects, I am sure that it is safe and will benefit you."
Lin says "And it will increase my stamina, right?"
"That might be one of the benefits, but that is not why I want to do it."
Lin says "Then why?"
"Because once we get back to the peninsula we won't be together all the time. There are things that we each need to do and I want you to be safer when we are apart."
Lin says "Alright, I guess I will buy that reason. When do we do it?"
"After dinner. It is safer for Mulan that way since she won't be fighting or anything until tomorrow afternoon."
Lin says "That's not much time to prepare, I suddenly feel a little nervous."
"You don't need to be. You know that I love you and I would never allow anything to harm you. If anything actually goes wrong and I can't fix it, I will reverse time."
Lin says "Messing with time is dangerous!"
"I don't care, I will do whatever it takes to keep you safe!"
Lin says "That is sweet and reassuring, but also a little frightening. I want you to promise me that if something ever happens to me you won't do anything insane!"
"I can't promise that. I can't even promise that I won't lose my mind. So, it would be better if you stay safe!"
Lin says "That is a lot of pressure to put on me! Are you planning to wrap me in cotton and never let me outside?"
"I would like to, the thought of you getting hurt is a part of my nightmares. However, I could never actually do that, you wouldn't be you anymore. That's why I want to make you stronger, that way I can worry a little less."
Lin says "It sounds like you have put a lot of thought into this. I was thinking that this was just a spur of the moment thing."
"Yes, I have. I won't ever be reckless where your safety is concerned."
Lin says "Alright. Let's do this if we are going to."
With that Nala, Albion, and Mushu go to watch cartoons while Mulan follows Lin and I. We head to the bedroom where I have Lin lie down on the bed and I put her to sleep with a spell. Of course, it only works because Lin doesn't fight against the spell, she could fight it if she wanted.
Mulan says "Why put her to sleep?"
"Because, changes to the body can be quite painful. I don't want her to experience any of that."
Mulan says "Okay. So, what do you need me to do?"
"I just need your blood, but it needs to be a decent amount. About one eighth of what's in your body. Giving me that much will make you light headed and might even make you pass out."
Mulan says "That's not a problem. Here."
Without any hesitation, Mulan cuts her wrist and her blood gushes out. I react quickly and catch the blood with my mana, as soon as I have enough I heal her wound. She wobbles a bit, but she doesn't pass out and after a few seconds she seems fine.
Mulan says "Now what?"
"Now I am going to infuse your blood into Lin's body and then help her body adapt to it."
Mulan says "My blood is pretty potent, will Lin be able to handle it?"
"On its own, probably not, but with my power supporting and controlling the changes it will be fine. Don't worry, I have done similar things to myself, although not intentionally."
Mulan says "Okay. I trust you, father. Is there anything I can do to help?"
"Nope. The rest of it is all me. You can stay and watch or go join the others, whichever you prefer."
Mulan says "I will stay and watch. Just in case there is something I can do to help."
"Alright."
Turning my attention to Lin, I use my mana to slowly infuse Mulan's blood into her. As I am doing that, I also fuse my mana into her and spread it throughout her body. I use my mana to provide energy to her body and help it start adapting to the blood.
The first thing that happens is that Mulan's blood converts all of Lin's blood. Then as the blood flows through Lin's body it starts converting her organs. This is the most dangerous part, if the organs can't withstand the power, they will explode.
My mana surrounds the organs to hold them together while also reinforcing them. With the blood flowing through them, the organs will adapt on their own. At the same time, the blood is causing the rest of her body to also start to adapt.
However, I use my mana to suppress and slow down the process throughout her body. Changing too quickly causes problems like impurities and imperfections. By slowing the process down, I can make sure that there are no problems.
It makes it more painful and drags it out, but that is why I am keeping Lin asleep. Even though she is in a deep sleep, she still occasionally moans in pain. If she were awake, she would most likely be screaming her head off from the pain.
By slowing down the process, I reduce the amount of stress on her body and allow it to gain more benefit. This is something that I wish I had been able to do for myself when I was altered. However, I can't think about that right now, I need to focus all my attention on Lin.
Thanks to me slowing things down, the process takes several hours to complete. I keep watch on everything that is happening inside her the entire time and help out where needed. However, as things are coming to an end I realize that I might have made a slight miscalculation.
I was trying to make Lin a human with a phoenix bloodline, but it ended up going further. From what I can see, Lin is now closer to being a half phoenix instead. However, I won't know for sure until she wakes up and can tell me what her character screen shows.
Most of my mana has been consumed in order to provide energy to her body. Because of that, it is going to be a while before I am able to work on my core again. However, that is a sacrifice that I am more than willing to make for Lin's sake.
Mulan says "Is it done? Why isn't she waking up?"
"Because her body used up a lot of her energy. Even with me providing my mana to help, she still had to use most of her own as well. She is now sleeping normally, she will wake up in the morning."
