I Became a Malicious Streamer

Chapter 150

“Come visit again next time!”

“Hey, unnie!”

Bye-bye~!

As I received a warm farewell from the orphanage, Ji-yeon and I set off.

The headmaster seemed a bit flustered by my wish to donate anonymously, but upon realizing it would fill the empty coffers of the orphanage, he accepted my offer without hesitation.

“I won’t let you down. If necessary, I’ll keep a record of how this money is used,” I said, simply smiling, hoping he would use it wisely.

He didn’t come across as someone who would dip into his own pockets, which made this donation possible.

“See you again~ Make sure to eat well!”

Ji-yeon, waving her hand from the side, seemed subtly pleased.

In truth, for Ji-yeon, this could have been quite displeasing. I had called her out to have lunch together, and then, bam, we end up at the orphanage.

But perhaps something happened with the kids inside, as her lips curled up slightly, indicating that it wasn’t a bad experience for her after all.

“You’re coming again next time, right?”

Considering she even asked me this back, I suppose it meant something to her.

“Well…”

Honestly, I planned not to come again. Given the headmaster’s demeanor, it was clear that he would treat me with gratitude and courtesy every time I visited, and that felt like a heavy burden.

“Why not? You have to come again! You want to see how the kids are growing up. Hee-eun? She’ll miss you a lot too.”

That much was certainly true. I was curious to see how the kids who grew up so quickly were doing.

I also worried about how Hee-eun would get along in the future. If she ever needed help, I wanted to give her my number, but then again, she might hesitate to reach out. If she had wounds, that wasn’t unexpected.

But I hadn’t expected Ji-yeon to say something like that.

I had a faint feeling that my little sister had some possessiveness over me. Yet here she was suggesting we should visit the orphanage frequently.

As I looked at Ji-yeon with a slightly surprised expression, she continued with even more surprising words.

“I should see how the kids are doing with the money you spent, right?”

“…How did you know?”

“Well, what else could you have been talking about for so long with the headmaster? I was just checking, but judging by your reaction, I guess I was right.”

Watching Ji-yeon, I wondered if I would get scolded for spending money on something unnecessary.

“Why, are you going to lecture me? Like, ‘Why are you giving money to orphans?'”

“Uh… I thought that might happen.”

Ji-yeon was quite strict about finances. I wasn’t sure if it was due to her upbringing in a wealthy family, but she never wasted money. Her spending always had a limit compared to her allowance, and there was usually a reason behind most of her purchases.

Although that limit seemed to loosen when it came to playing dress-up with her sister, overall, she was quite frugal.

So I half-expected her to give me some nagging if she found out about my donation. Something like, “You can’t even manage your money, and here you are donating—”

However, contrary to my expectations, Ji-yeon just shrugged her shoulders and continued.

“Why would I say something like that? Spending money on a good deed should be praised.”

“Right? I did good, didn’t I?”

“As long as it doesn’t affect your daily life because the amount is too large, donating is a good thing.”

Well, it was a large amount. But considering the many kids they had to raise, wouldn’t that much be necessary?

As for the money I donated, I could always earn it back. These days, my income was rather decent—if not more than decent.

Truly, having a lot of money was a good thing. I’m glad I took up broadcasting.

“With all the people who waste money on gambling or shopping addictions… considering them, spending money like you did this time is really good spending.”

“Really?”

“With that money, you’re buying the kids’ futures, right? It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that you’ve earned a share in their lives.”

Bought their futures, huh? That was unexpectedly a nice way to put it. As I chewed on the thought, Ji-yeon continued.

“So you have to come see how they’re living, how they’re growing. You need to check how your money is being used.”

She was saying the same thing as the headmaster. Ji-yeon. Suddenly, I felt a sense of pride that at 19, this young girl was growing up.

Ji-yeon accepted my affection without turning red or anything, just content.

Gently patting her head as we headed home, I suddenly became curious and asked.

“But Ji-yeon, what happened there that made you want to go back again?”

Did she become friends with the kids? If so, I should know their names—so I asked, prompting Ji-yeon to show a hint of embarrassment.

“U-um?”

“I was just curious. I dragged you to the orphanage out of the blue.”

“Just… one of the kids said something sweet.”

As she recalled what happened earlier, her lips curled up again. I guess she received some pleasant words.

After all, Ji-yeon was weak to compliments. Just saying she was pretty would make her stop whatever she was doing and grin like a fool.

In some ways, you could say she had almost no resistance to flattery. I, too, had my tendencies, but she was worse than I was.

That made her a great playmate for the kids. Every time I complimented her, they would smile back. The image made me chuckle without realizing.

As the sun was setting, my day, which didn’t go as I planned, turned out to be a good one.

Thinking about it, I realized how far I was from living a planned life, but who cared? As long as I felt good, that was what mattered.

Even forgetting that I was sweaty and sticky from jogging, I just kept smiling.

A special voice was needed.

A very special voice.

As the launch of the mobile game approached, the director sincerely thought this way.

With smooth gameplay and character design completed, it was now time to call in voice actors or anyone else to record the character dialogues.

As everything was progressing smoothly, a problem arose.

A slight dissatisfaction and regret. What was the source of this emotion?

It was that the director couldn’t find a voice suitable for the character he painstakingly designed, Sena.

Even reaching out to voice actors, idols, and actors he’d worked with before, there was no voice within his reach that fit the bill.

Revived specter Sena. A character who exuded a tone of nonchalance and annoyance, yet harbored an underlying desire for life. Although she didn’t want the attention, her unique charm drew excessive interest from those around her, leading to a burden she completely brushed aside.

Yet, she had a kind of quirky way of making inappropriate jokes that she alone found amusing, making her a rather bizarre character.

The director recalled how his team had reacted in horror when he first set up Sena’s character.

However, thinking back on how all the characters he worked with became sensationally popular, he believed this character Sena would also gain considerable popularity.

Yet, he couldn’t find a voice that matched this painstakingly crafted Sena, leaving the director feeling frustrated.

In truth, he could just ask a voice actor with a moderately fitting voice to record. Voice actors could portray a character well enough through their voices. Surely, they could act out the character he envisioned.

However, the director’s inherent perfectionism was once again holding him back. There just wasn’t that “wow” feeling he was looking for. He wanted someone who was not just a voice actor but someone who could capture Sena’s essence with just their voice.

The team members clicked their tongues behind him, grumbling about his stubbornness and sighing. Some began discussing how long this would take and who they would bring in as candidates.

True to his perfectionist nature, whenever something bothered him, he would dwell on it for days, ensuring it was perfectly resolved without anyone daring to challenge him.

He always delivered beyond expectations, and this time would surely be no different.

A hidden master or aspiring voice actor. Idols, actors, singers, even regular folks with nice voices could be options too.

In any case, as long as the outcome was good, that was all that mattered.

This was precisely why no one voiced any dissatisfaction with the director’s stubbornness.
