Chapter 43: First day.
Chapter 43: First day.
*Celia’s POV*
Rather than get work or training done, I had to adjust to living in this estate. Having some very attractive maids wake you up, then take you to a very nice bath, where they clean every nook and cranny of your body, before finally letting you relaxing in a nice bath. Then after that, you get guided by said maids to eat a tasty breakfast, let’s just say, it was hard to adjust to such luxury…
I sorta forgot that I slept in a bed at Amelie’s shack house, but the bed in this place was miles better. Which made me completely forgot about that meh bed.
Back on topic, it’s not that I didn’t enjoy it, it’s just that I haven’t ever had someone do these things for me ever before. Frankly, I loved every second of it. Basically, all day I would just relax. Read some books, go chill out in the garden, things like that.
This went on for four entire weeks! I wanted to work, trust me, I did. But Ria refused to let me even lift a finger. Apparently on orders from Amelie’s. I needed a good break anyway…
Though, finally, it was time for me to start attending the academy in this kingdom. From what I’ve read, it was an amazing place. The kingdom, and the academy, were all started by a person who could use a System. Said person, she was the one who made such an equal, and not even slightly racist kingdom.
If you hurt someone, or commit some crime against someone, just because they’re a race that you hate, the punishment, or rather, the number of years you would have to serve, would be far longer. In case of the academy, you would be thrown out once an investigation could prove your transgression.
Though, with so many powerful beings, and noble families, I wouldn’t doubt that bullying, or harassment, is still a thing within the kingdom, and even the academy. So, I should be prepared to face off against some annoying ass people. Either it’ll be a fight, or just a shouting match, but I will still be ready for it regardless.
This entire time, Ruina hasn’t responded at all. I am very worried for her safety… I honestly can’t tell if she is ghosting me, or something bad happened to her…
For now, I need to focus on school! I never thought that I would ever say something like that again… Anyway, I am currently riding in a carriage, on my way to the academy. Stupidly, it doesn’t have a unique name at all, and it just shares the name with the kingdom of Tuseoun.
Well, at least the long line of carriages, helps ease my anxiety. You would think that a kingdom this advanced, would come up with a better carriage traffic system… Or maybe it’s an honor, or nobility thing? If it was me, I would just walk to the academy.
I mean, that is what I tried to do, but Ria shut that down quickly. Why would I, the being with a System, listen to a lowly maid? That’s because Ria isn’t lowly at all… One time, shortly after Amelie left her estate, I tried to peep at Ria’s Status. It was completely blank… No information could be seen about her at all. After that, I no longer held any desire to go against her at all.
Granted, she hasn’t mistreated, or been rude to me. She just said that it would be rude to go on foot, rather than ride slowly in our carriage. Ria is a woman of few words, so I just quietly sat in the carriage, completely bored out of my mind.
Ria: “Lady Celia, are you truly that bored?” She asked with a raised eyebrow.
Celia: “Can you blame me? We have been stuck in this line for an entire hour…” I reply with a sigh.
Ria: “Lady Celia, fret not. We shall be done with this line in a few minutes.” She said.
Celia: “Won’t we have to do this every day, though?” I ask.
Ria: “No, Lady Celia, that is not the case. We already have a residence at the academy. Most of the maids are already there as well.” She answered.
Celia: “Okay, that’s better.” I say with a smile.
Just as my scary personal maid had said, a few minutes after we talked, our carriage had stopped. Once out of the carriage, I saw three maids, one of which was the driver, help the other’s get some luggage out of the carriage. Rather than follow us, they went in a different direction. Maybe to our residence in this place? Eh, I’ll figure that out later.
As for Ria and I, we walked to a very big building. From the short glance that I gave of this academy, it looked like an upper class college, rather than a medieval one. That is to say, I kinda feel like I am back in the past…
The building that we entered, was practically just an auditorium. No. It actually just was one. If you take out the various fantasy races sitting down around the place, you wouldn’t guess that this scene is from a fantasy world… Ria ushered me to my seat, which was further back than most of the other students.
Not in the sense that I was being shoved to the back, more like, I was guided to the upper class area of this auditorium. Ah, classism at its finest! Even the seats were of higher quality. Most of the students were sitting down on nice wooden chairs, but us in this area, were sitting down on plush, and fancy chairs. Damn, I might end up being right about this academy… As I was thinking about this, a random fellow student came up to me.
Random Student: “You, what family do you happen to be from? I have never seen you before, are you sure that you sat down in the right area?” She said with a haughty tone.
Celia: “I do not have a family name, but I am Amelie Scarletwood’s student. Ah, I think that she is known as, The Witch of Holy Destruction.” I reply with a confident tone.
Yes. Even with such a pretty name, Amelie is only remembered by that name, that sounds like a five year old came up with it. I only knew about this, because Ria felt the need to explain Amelie’s history to me.
There was once a kingdom controlled by witches. Or rather, controlled and ruled by a certain coven, The Mystic Circle. Amelie belonged to said coven, but due to how evil and corrupt they were, she destroyed the kingdom, and killed every evil witch belonging to it. And she did that all within a single night. This happened, many, many years ago.
And the name only ever stuck, due to how she kept doing more things just as crazy as that. She has so much sway over this kingdom, because she was one of its founders. The only living founder, I should say. The king and queen listened and agreed with her request that came out of nowhere, because she could easily have them replaced with a single word from her.
Ah, as for the girl who accosted me, well, all of the color ran away from her face. After her shock faded, she bowed, and then quickly walked away. Cute… Why the heck did I find that cute?… Eh, at least using Amelie’s name can help me out.
Oh, right. Speaking of cute, this academy’s uniform is stupidly cute as well. Even the men's outfit is nice looking. As for the women's, it had a skirt that went down to my knees, black stockings, and a nice blazer. The blazer was black, with a bow tie in a color of your choosing. I chose a nice pinkish red to match my eyes and hair. As for the skirt, it was also black.
All in all, the uniform was deadly cute. Frankly, rather than a fantasy world, I feel as if I am in a Japanese high school… Anyway, the principal, came up on stage. Her whole speech was breathtaking!
Nope! It wasn’t good at all… I actually ended up falling asleep shortly after she started speaking. Don’t blame me! With lectures on this level, I truly felt like I was back in college once again…
